It is such a pleasure to see and listen to an old hand of cricket Khalid Mehmood thanks to Aamir Sohail Sahib also inviting young Salman Butt into the discussions.I am now 84 yrs old having been a resident of UK since 1953 and being a cricket lover having had the pleasure of not only watching all the world's great cricket players and their teams on British grounds but also enjoying being a solitary figure among British crowds jumping with joy screaming "Allah o Akbar Pakistan Zindabad" whenever our Pakistan youngsters were thrilling the crowds with their performances.
The appointments of incompetent and unsuitable people as chairmen of Pakistan Cricket Board resulted in loss of influence in international cricketing affairs but also lack of support for our young players receiving unfair discriminatory and unreasonable dealings at international levels.One particular incident that proved to be most damaging to the Pakistani Cricket when its three most exciting youngsters were trapped in a match-fixing scandal.A dirty bunch of News of the World (the greatest international scandaliser) news makers (who are still facing court proceedindgs in the UK) set a trap by dangling and flashing huge sums of money and offering places in the county teams to the Pakistani novices who easily fell into it. This was the time for the bosses of our cricket to stand by these youngsters and offer them maximum protection yet it was nowhere to be seen. I hope even at this late stage Amir Sohail will get hold of these people responsible for the whole fiasco and question them. My heart is still bleeding for these youngsters. Pakistan Zindabad
