KARACHI: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) officials have arrested three alleged members on Saturday recruiting citizens illegally using names of ex-President Asif Ali Zardari and CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah in governmental departments in Karachi.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Farooq Awan detailed the action against the criminals involved in several fake appointments in government departments.
SIU arrested three persons, name are undisclosed till yet, during a raid conducted over intelligence reports in Sher Shah Colony of the metropolis, local media reported.
According to reports, the persons were using fake visiting cards and letterheads of former president Asif Ali Zardari and ongoing Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah.
A 18-grade government’s high school teacher and police head constable were included amongst the three persons detained by the security officials.
SSP Awan said that the criminals collected millions worth amount via cheating hundreds of citizens by fake appointments in different government sectors in Karachi and Hyderabad.
