LAHORE: 37 Pakistani prisoners released by Indian authorities have reached Wagah border on Friday (today).
Released prisoners were very happy when they returned to their country and they bowed as a gesture of gratitude. Rangers personnel welcomed the prisoners warmly and distributed sweets among them.
India has released 32 fishermen and five other citizens of Pakistan as a good will gesture.
Pakistani inmates said they were arrested by Indian authorities for violating land and sea limits. According to records, all the released convicts have spent at least a year or two in Indian jails.
It should be kept in mind that Pakistan has recently released 137 India prisoners, mostly fishermen, on the day when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited India for swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a good will gesture.
