COPENHAGEN, Denmark: An Austrian drag queen Conchita Wurst became the most famous Austrian musician since Mozart, has grabbed a resounding victory at Eurovision Song Contest 2014 via scoring 290 points.
Conchita Wurst bagged winning title via her entry ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’; providing her douze points from across the continent at Europe singing contest this year while Netherlands got second place with 238 points and third position awarded to Sweden.
The closer friend of Thomas Neuwirth 25, Conchita Wurst, presented outstanding performance in the contest held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The winner burst into tears while receiving the trophy from last year’s winner, Denmark’s Emmelie de Forrest; she dedicated her victory to the ‘future of peace and freedom’.
She faced severe criticism and calls to block her entry from Russia Ukraine due to recent increasing tensions over Ukraine crisis while Eastern Europe termed her as a ‘West’s decadence’.
However, the critics including Russia and Ukraine awarded her 5 and 8 points respectively. Wurst clarified her stance while talking with Associated Press that she can ‘live with it’ if the criticism is on her personality only.
