PESHAWAR: A powerful explosion heard near renowned Faqeerabad area located in the provincial capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.
Four persons lost their lives while at least eight persons got serious injuries following the high-intensity explosion near an entertainment place, Parda Park.
Rescue teams have reached the location; shifting the injured persons to Lady Reading Hospital.
Hospital sources said that several injured persons are in sensitive condition following major injuries.
An eyewitness claimed that an unknown gunman fired bullets before the explosion.
Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies deployed at the location. Security forces cordoned off whole area to provide ease for workers for rescue activities.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached at the incident’s site in order to find out the genre of explosion.
SSP Operation Najeeb-ur-Rehman said that ten kilograms explosives were used in the blast; which blew up by a suicide bomber after carrying out firing.
He detailed that the target of the suicide bomber was a registration camp established for the residents of tribal areas where registration process was continued since yesterday.
