Government reduced haj fares by 23,000 rupees - 09 May 2014



ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony of National Assembly has decided to cut down hajj travel expenses by Rs23,000 here on Thursday, media reported.

Hafiz Abdul Karim chaired a meeting of the aforementioned committee in Parliament House on Thursday and unanimously decided to reduce fares.

Now Rs272,000 will be charged from a pilgrim who wishes to perform hajj this year.

After the meeting, Sardar Mohammad Yousaf, Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony, announced the decision made by the committee.

Yousaf said that government is taking all the measures to ensure utmost facilities are provided to Pakistani pilgrims in Saudia Arabia.
