KABUL: Top military heads from Pakistan, Afghanistan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) held an important meeting in the federal capital Kabul on Monday (today).
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif-led envoy held meeting with top commanders of Afghan and ISAF today.
Discussions on cooperation in ongoing anti-terrorism fight and overall regional security situations were held during the high-level meeting in Kabul, the federal capital of Afghanistan.
Afghan security officials briefed the Pakistani military chief regarding security situation of the country; opened discussions on various aspects for betterment of border connections and power transfer to Afghan security forces after withdrawal of NATO forces.
Acting Afghan President Yunus Qanuni and General Sher Mohammad Karimi also met General Raheel Sharif to increase mutual cooperation between neighbouring countries.
General Raheel Sharif had scheduled to attend the trilateral meeting with Afghan Chief of Army Staff General Sher Mohammad Karimi and International Security Assistance Force Commander General Joseph Dunford on Monday (today).
