Edinburgh: The 14-years young muslim girl Abtaha Maqsood has been selected with her great performance in the Scotland Women’s cricket team.
Abtaha is studying at Eastwood High School, The Newton Mearns lass was selected after shining with Glasgow’s Poloc cricket club and the Eastwood High team where she played together with the boys.
She played two matches for Scotland in which the national team lost and won one game.
After receiving the first cap, Abtaha said that it was a really great experience. I was the youngest there and it was my first cap, but everyone was really nice.
“They were very friendly and welcoming, it wasn’t frightening at all. I hope I’ll be selected for the next matches in two weeks’ time.”
