ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raeheel Sharif met on Thursday to discuss the security situation in tribal areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to an official statement released by Prime Minister House, COAS was invited by the PM to give briefing about security circumstances in the country.
COAS shared his concerns about Taliban’s attacks on Pakistan Army.
We are constantly being attacked by Taliban and on the other hand Government is convincing Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for negotiations, said COAS.
A source said the meeting discussed future negotiations, saying that such attacks will cast a negative impact on the reconciliation process between Government and TTP.
During the meeting, COAS and PM also conversed about the unrest in Karachi and Balochistan.
