ISLAMABAD: The caterpillar has been recovered from the food of a the largest, best known global food chain McDonald’s outlet in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.
The incident was reported from McDonald’s outlet present in F-09 Park of Federal Capital city Islamabad and after complaint the administration of outlet offered the free meal but on refusal of the offer administration threatens to a senior journalist.
A senior journalist told SANA that he was having meal with his family ate an out let of McDonald’s present in F-09 Park as the waiter presented Sandwich the alive Caterpillar was recovered and senior journalist pointed out to the waiter but he responded “don’t worry we provide you an other one”. The journalist was of the view on the occasion that “I have not asked for change of Sandwich but I am talking about the negligence because this caterpillar can be toxic if any body had eaten.
Meanwhile the Counter In-Charge Fahad was asked to give in written the such negligence would not be committed in future, however he refused to give any written assurance stating that he is not authorize to give any written assurance.
In the meanwhile another waiter of the out let appeared as the permanent customer and said that the food quality of out let was out class, so journalist get out of the restaurant, adding that the restaurant is the property of a big media house but on inquiry of his designation he vanished from the scene.
Later on the Manager out let Rizwan stated that their customers are being affected through the matter being discussed between waiters and journalist in loud voice. Our business would be affected he also said and offered that the bill paid by the journalist would be returned and fresh meal also would be given to him as well. He also refused to give any written assurance, stating that we are employees of the out let, so can not give any thing in written form.
The senior journalist on the occasion said that he has audio Video record of the said caterpillar recovered form Sandwich. The branch manager Rizwan requested to neglect the situation, saying that they assure that such incident would not occur in future.
The senior journalist said that it is not the issue of a person , adding that it is the issue of hundreds of thousands of citizens who avail the service of the out let and the little negligence of the administration can take the life of a citizen.
It is worth mentioning here that in foreign countries stern actions had been taken on such incident and there is an example of another well known chain KFC out let in Australia, where a minor girl baby was mentally affected by eating toxic thing but the Australian apex court imposed 8.3 million dollar fine to KFC.
Pakistan spends millions of rupees over the food controlling authorities but unfortunately no one ready to block the ways for people distributing the deaths among masses.
It is worthy to note that few days back the in Cafeteria of Parliament a cockroach was recovered from the bottle of the tomato ketchup but unfortunately the legislative pillar of state has not taken any action against the responsible and due to negligence such incidents have become routine matters and no one is present to tackle the worst situation.
