RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistani military officers of rank Lieutenant-Colonels were killed in a suicide bombing attack on a double cabin vehicle on Fateh Jang road near Rawalpindi, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
A suicide bomber suddenly blew himself near the military vehicle when it was taking two military officers to Kohat en-route Fateh Jang from Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
According to Director-General ISPR Asim Bajwa’s Twitter message, Lieutenant-Colonels Zahir Shah and Arsha were killed in the blast.
The officers were going towards a military installation located at Fateh Jang, Dawn News reported.
The suicide attack also claimed lives of three locals, whereas, investigation teams collected the CCTV footage of the incident; which reportedly helped them to identify the terrorist’s details.
According to reports, the suicide bomber was seemingly belonging to Uzbekistan; the attacker have fair complexion, beard and long hairs. He blew himself suddenly when the military vehicle reached near to him.
The dead bodies and injured persons were shifted to hospital by military helicopters reached on the incident’s site while other helicopters conducted a search operation in the area.
No one claimed responsibility of the attack till yet.
