What misconceptions do people have about you?
Many people think I have a lot of attitude, but it’s not true! I am very fun-loving. It may be due to the roles that I am doing….but I am not like that at all in real life.
What’s the worst rumor that you’ve heard about yourself?
You know, in this field, you hear a lot of gossip. Many women want to be with you to get into the industry. I’ve always opposed such things, so someone spread a rumour about me that I’m a homosexual. Haha, that’s the worst one I heard about me.
Any lessons learnt the hard way?
All my lessons are learnt the hard way! I have never been so lucky, I used my brain and landed projects finally. I learnt the on-ground realities of this industry and honestly becoming a star is not something easy. You get work by doing hard work, and that’s what I learnt with time. I have been working really hard for where I stand today. I have been to India where I got admission in an acting school where Naseeruddin Shah was my teacher and even Randeep Hooda used to teach us… So hard work is the most important ingredient you require…
What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever said to you?
Actually a girl just messaged me on Facebook saying “Apnay jo role adda kia, ap wese he hain…” and actually I had just done a very psychotic, negative sort of a role… I find it weird as well that often random people ask me for my number and a guy once contacted me and asked me for a favor just because his girlfriend likes me…
Tell us something no one knows about you…
Many people don’t know that I actually dance really well. I am actually releasing a video pretty soon that will feature my dancing.
What drives you: Money, fame or success?
I would say… Success!
What do you fail to understand about the opposite sex?
Why they can’t believe what we’re telling them! Like they’ll ask where you were and when you tell them the truth, they won’t believe you.
What is the most important relationship advice you can give?
Love is not a blissful state of mind, it’s an equation… it is what you do for her, or she does for you…
When was the last time you kicked ass?
I am very sober person by nature… so, I don’t even remember when I kicked ass the last time…
What do you consider your best physical asset?
I don’t know, I don’t assess my look that way, but people tell me I have very expressive eyes…
How do you unwind?
After working from 10 to 10 or later than that, I just watch television, grab my phone, my laptop and get in my bed! I surf Facebook and that’s it!
Have you ever done anything you shouldn’t have?
Sometimes I think I shouldn’t have wasted my time so much! I wasted two years in Lahore and even now I think if I wouldn’t have wasted my time there I would have been what I am now in 2007. I would have done 15-16 dramas and telefilms during that time.
Have you ever envied another person?
No, never! You lose focus when you do that. I am happy for what I am doing and for what I have today. My dad is like my ‘guru’ so whenever I think that someone is getting more famous or getting more projects than me, my dad always opposes my thoughts…
Define your sense of style?
Not too flashy or showy. Sleek, smart and semi-formal is more my thing. Blend of casual and formal defines my sense of style perfectly.
What is the price of success?
Success is a mood, you achieve anything and you feel successful… it is a state of mind rather. For me the price of success is to sacrifice yourself, you have a busy schedule and you just don’t have time for your own self…
