The actor who turns 40 today has give her fans some memorable classics which make her one of the most special actors in Bollywood
It is Kajol’s birthday today and we at BollywoodLife decided to celebrate it by looking at our favourite films from the actor’s career! She entered the industry in 1992 and since then it has been one hell of a ride for Kajol. It is difficult to pick just five but here is a list of our favourites:
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: Romancing Shah Rukh Khan in the midst of meadows Kajol made her way into the hearts of many with DDLJ. From getting bowled over by her sexy yet cute number Mere khwabon mein jo aaye to making her chemistry with King Khan as a benchmark to be followed by all the future Indian romances, Kajol made DDLJ every bit a cult that it is today.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: From what started with DDLJ obviously had Karan Johar so charmed that he couldn’t think of a better pair than Kajol-SRK for his directorial debut in Bollywood. And didn’t Kajol’s Anjali stint become a hit with her fans! Not only did the tomboy Anjali inspire many to embrace their personality, the traditional Anjali made men skip a heartbeat.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: Kajol came together with SRK yet againfor KJo’s K3G this time as a bubbly and hilariously patriotic married woman. But the first half of the film, especially the track Suraj hua maddham transported viewers back to the era of DDLJ and proved to us that Kajol and SRK are eternally the best romantic jodi onscreen.
Baazigar: Much before proving that she is worth her salt as a romantic actor, Kajol surprised the audience with her role of an avenger. While she was seen romancing SRK in the second film of her career, the dusky beauty also ended up killing him thus seeking revenge for her sister (played by Shilpa Shetty) in the film. We loved this film for the sheer freshness of the plot and the way makers tapped the actor’s potential as an actor.
Gupt: Choosing this film opposite Bobby Deol and Manisha Koirala was probably the coolest and most surreptitiously badass career decision that Tanishaa Mukherji’s sister ever made. She proved that she won’t settle for run-of-the-mill trophy roles in films women in her time were mostly limited to. She stunned the audience with the twist at the end of this film which we still find too cool to reveal in case you haven’t seen the film yet!
We love Ajay Devgn’s wifey as an actor because she lends more power to actors today for having the courage to sign unconventional projects and always push boundaries by stopping at nothing. A very happy birthday to the very awesome, Kajol!Subscribe to me on YouTube
