Akki’s latest film fared decently on day 1 at the ticket windows
Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer Entertainment hit the theaters yesterday and the slapstick comedy drama witnessed a good opening. The film managed to collect Rs 11.57 crore nett on day 1 at the domestic box office and wethinks its a good figure. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#Entertainment Fri – 11.57 cr nett. India biz.” What’s interesting is that Khiladi Kumar’s latest offering pulled in crowds to the theaters oversees too. Adarsh tweeted, “#Entertainment opened in UAE-GCC on Thursday and has collected approx AED 475,000 [Rs 79.37 lacs] on its opening day. Good.”
According to Boxofficeindia, “Entertainment grossed around 9.25 crore nett on its first day as it had decent opening in some circuits but business at multiplexes hit it badly almost all over. The better collections came in North and Central markets. After Rajasthan the best collections were East Punjab and CI. The film will be relying on a big jump in multiplexes on Saturday but it may be tough as if there was to be a major turnaround it should have started on Friday evening.”
Akshay’s last film Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty entered the Rs 100 crore club in no time but will his new film follow suit? Only time will tell…
