7 days to go for the Happy New Year trailer launch…
Farah Khan‘s Happy New Year has been in the making for the most part of this year. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah, this film has created a huge buzz since a long time. While we still have seven days until we can see the trailer on the 14th of August, the trailer release date, we are biding our time thinking of seven iconic looks of the leading lady: Finding Fanny: The latest Goan avatar of Deepika in this Deepika-Arjun Kapoor starrer took us by surprise, and a pleasant one too. The Homi Adajania film releases a month or so before Happy New Year and we’re quite curious to find out how well Deepika scrapes this one. Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela: The Deepika-Ranveer Singh starrer released last year and went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2013. It was during this Sanjay Leel Bhansali directorial that the duo started dating and have been a happy couple ever since. Deepika’s desi look as Leela did not just impress Ranveer, but the audience too. Chennai Express: This Deepika-Shah Rukh starrer beat 3Idiot‘s record of being the highest grossing Bollywood film. Deepika was seen playing a south Indian girl for the first time and despite, her highly criticised dialect, people were utterly in love with her character, Meenamma. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani: The Deepika-Ranbir Kapoor starrer that brought the ex-couple together was a major hit. Her role of Naina made all people fall in love with her geeky ways. Dum Maaro Dum: Deepika was in this film just for the item number Mit jaae ghum, which went on to become the highest selling point of the film. She had never portrayed such sensuousness onscreen and it was wonderful to see her sporting so many tattoos as well. Chandni Chowk To China: Deepika was a little too tall to accurately portray the Chinese girl character in this Deepika-Akshay Kumar starrer, but her kick ass action scenes made her role a worth watch. Om Shanti Om: In her debut film that also stared Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika was seen portraying a very retro look, which, we think, suited her well and was also appreciated by audiences a lot.
