Looks like their upcoming film Happy New Year will not have the Chennai Express couple recreate their romantic chemistry again!
Deepika Padukone plays a bar dancer named Mohini in Happy New Year. Shah Rukh Khan plays a ‘loser’ named Charlie who brings together five other losers like him to rob a bank and engage in the biggest dance-heist of the season.
We were expecting some standard romance between the two main leads SRK and Deepika and expecting them to recreate some of the good-old Om Shanti Om magic. But looks like SRK-Dippy fans will be deprived of that joy…
A source close to the HNY production reveals, “Deepika Padukone is more like one of the boys in the caper. She plays a bar dancer who is called by Shah Rukh Khan to teach his team of heisters how to dance in a global dance competition. The mutual attraction between SRK and Deepika is hinted at very gently. There is no attempt to cash in on the Chennai Express chemistry between the pair.”
