Rani Mukerji is flying high over the success of her recently release Mardaani. The movie has got good reviews from the critics and the masses alike. However, it did face a few censor board issues due to its bold content and language.
In a recently held press conference, Rani said that on behest of viewers and NGOs she will send the film to the censor board for re-certification. Despite being awarded an A-certificate, Mardaani, which earned Rs.15 crore in the opening weekend, has been made tax free in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Mukerji is keen to show the film on female trafficking to children who are above 12 years.
Rani campaigns for a new category that allows children above 12 years to watch a film like Mardaani, which has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Yash Raj Films.
Rani also urged the Maharashtra government to make Mardaani tax free.
Also present at the press conference were Pradeep Sarkar, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Gopi Puthran.
