The important documents that had gone missing some days back are finally retrieved

Police on Tuesday claimed to have found the crucial missing case papers in Salman Khan hit-and-run case. The sessions court had criticised the police over the missing case papers last week.

Deputy commissioner of police, Zone IX, Satyanarayan Choudhary, while talking to a leading daily said that the missing case papers were retrieved during a corner-to-corner search of the police station, which was going on since the past four days.

“We have found almost all the papers that had been missing,” Choudhary said adding the documents would be submitted to the court on September 12, the next date of hearing in the case.

Though he refused to specify the details of the recovered documents, the prosecution had earlier informed the court that the case diary had gone missing, in addition to 56 of the 63 case-related documents.

On August 23, Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria had pulled up the higher ups in-charge of the Bandra region and directed the additional commissioner of police to conduct an inquiry to trace the case papers.

That was in response to the stern warnings issued to the police by the sessions court to clarify about the missing papers. The court had also pulled up retired ACP Kishan Shengel who initially investigated the case in 2002.
