Shreyas is planning to make Poshter Boyz in Hindi
After its success in Maharashtra, actor-producer Shreyas Talpade is planning to make his Marathi venture Poshter Boyz in Hindi to reach out to masses.
The film is a humorous take on a key social issue of vasectomy where three individuals find themselves brought together in an awkward situation that has a serious effect on their day-to-day life. “I am getting a lot of requests from my friends in media and Bollywood that I should make the film in Hindi so that people across India can enjoy it. I am thinking of making it in Hindi and let’s see what happens,” Shreyas told PTI.
The 38-year-old’s second Marathi production venture was released last month and the film earned rave reviews for brilliant performances of its starcast including Dilip Prabhavalkar, Aniket Vishwasrao and Hrishikesh Joshi. Asked if he would retain the same cast for the film’s Hindi remake, Shreyas said, “It’s too early to talk about its starcast. We will definitely do something which will suit the audience’s taste.”
The film also had special appearances by filmmakers Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty besides the Iqbal star.
The Sameer Patil directed film has earned Rs one crore in just three days of its opening across Maharashtra, which is a big box-office earner by a regional film.
“It’s a big opening for a regional Marathi film. I am proud of it because it was my debut independent production without any channel support. It was driven by its content and youth were coming back to the theatre. I feel films like Lai Bhari and Poshter Boyz are opening the market of Marathi cinema. It’s good to witness this change as a producer and actor,” Shreyas said.
Poshter Boyz has been co-produced by Shreyas and his wife Deepti Talpade under their banner Affluence Movies Private Limited. The film was shot in the real locations of Western Maharashtra.
