HAMBANTOTA: Sri Lanka on Tuesday defeated Pakistan by 77 runs in second One Day International played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Pakistan in reply to massive total of 311 runs, just managed to score 235 runs on loss of 10 wickets.
Ahmad Shehzad played brilliantly for his 56 runs while Mohammad Hafeez scored 64 runs to guide Pakistan to reach 233 runs mark.
Thisara Parera took 3 wickets for Sri lanka.
Host won the toss and elected to bat first against the Green Shirts. Sri Lankan lost two big wickets of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara early in the innings just 51 on score board.
Lankan skipper once again got unlucky, as he lost his wicket after scoring brilliant 93 runs while Mahela Jayawardane made classy 67 runs to gain upper hand against Pakistan’s bowling.
All rounder Thisara Perara played brilliant cameo of 65 runs at the end of the innings to guide Lankan team 310 runs on loss of 9 wickets .
Wahab Riaz took 4 wickets while Mohammad Hafeez picked up 3 wickets for the Green Shirts.
