The Khoobsurat actress is reportedly signing another film with Disney wherein she will be seen playing, guess what, a princess in the desi remake of the Anne Hathaway starrer, Princess Diaries!
Now we may be out of line here but a second project which demands her to play this role may result in people stereotyping the actress in the ‘demure princess’ category. Here is us giving Sonam three reasons why she needs an image-makeover:
For the love of her career:
If Sonam really wants her audience to remember that she is an actor then we really recommend her to take a walk outside her comfort zone. We know she is good at looking pretty and all but its high time to show some real skill. And we think that it won’t happen if Sonam signs another Disney film…
For the love of realism:
We agree that it is fun to be a part of a fairy-tale, all of us girls have wanted to be a Disney princess at some or the other point in our lives or atleast play dress up and dream of going to balls with a Prince Charming. But beyond this rose-tinted and world of Disney lies a sea of other acting opportunities which would make Sonam a more serious actor.
For the love of variety:
We think that for some time one Khoobsurat is enough. To be honest we would like to see an Alia Bhatt or a Shraddha Kapoor playing Mia in the Hindi remake of Princess Diaries. Sonam playing a nerdy school-girl who gets a fashion make-over doesn’t sound like the most thrilling idea to us. The actor should focus on other scripts that demand her to slip into more challenging characters.
