Barbie Jain aka Jwala is a book worm, who started her journey with Alaxmi Ka Super Parivaar. While onscreen she seems like the youngest among the lot but in real life Barbie is very mature, confident and sweet. Read excerpts from the interview…

What were you doing before signing on for Nisha Aur Uske Cousins?

I have done a couple of shows before this but I feel like this is my big break. Nisha Aur Uske Cousins is where I’ve got a prominent role. Earlier, I did a show on Life Ok for ten months called Alaxmi Ka Super Parivaar after that I signed up for this show.

How did you bag this role?

I gave the audition a long time back. One of my co-actors, Tapasvi Mehta joined the creative team of this show. He was the one who called me for the audition. When I dropped by, they saw me with my specs – I am very much like Jwala, an under confident book worm. But now I have changed. I believe I have evolved over time.

Heli Daruwala and Aneri Vajani have done TV shows and are relatively popular. Do you feel over shadowed by their presence?

Honestly, no. We shot in Jaipur for 15 days and I shared my room with Aneri. She made me feel sisterly. I have a sister in my life but Aneri has made me feel like her own and given me that comfort zone. Heli is so much like a sister from the time we’ve met. So no I don’t think I feel overshadowed by them at all.

Whenever there’s a huge star cast- ego clashes, arguments and fights are bound to happen. How are things on this set?

Luckily, we’ve not reached that stage yet.

Who do you bond best with, among the other six cousins?

I can’t pick one. I am close to all of them.

When you are not shooting what do you all do?

We chitchat, talk about random things and we dance a lot. In fact, when we were in Jaipur after shoot, we’d all go dancing almost every other day.

How was the experience of working with a veteran actor like Vivek Mushran?

He is extremely sweet. I have not yet had a one-to-one scene with him, just family sequences and he’s been really nice. Whenever I do something wrong, he always shows me the way to do it right.

How is it working with Varun Badola‘s dad VM Badola?

Dadaji is extremely sweet. On screen he is supposed to be a strict -Sigham type of a person, but otherwise he is such a darling. He would offer us his lunch – he is super sweet.
