Recently, the makers of Finding Fanny were aske dby the CBFC to retain the word ‘virgin’ in the film. Here is what Bhandarkar felt about the same…
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is glad that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has allowed the team of Finding Fanny to use the term “virgin” and has approved it with a UA certificate.
It’s something he wasn’t allowed in his film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji in 2011.
“Appreciate that Censor Board’s allowed Finding Fanny team to use d word VIRGIN. Sadly during DTBHJ the V-word got my film an A certificate,” Bhandarkar posted on his Twitter page.
It’s a positive sign – Finding Fanny director Homi Adajania, readily agrees.
CBFC had earlier asked the film’s team to discard a dialogue from the film, where actress Deepika Padukone says, “I’m a virgin”.
However, the makers were confused by CBFC’s “contradictory action” as the line had been passed earlier in the trailers.
Perhaps, Bhandarkar is resentful of the Censors for treating his film harshly. But looks like he is happy with the progressive turn the CBFC recently took. All’s well that ends well!
