Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh starring Sonali Bendre, Apurva Agnihotri and Harsh Chhaya in leading roles is a family drama, which is said to inspire women, who decide to walk out on their bad marriages. Interestingly, Ekta claims that she is dedicating the show to her mother Shobha Kapoor and hence, has named Sonali’s character Shobha.
Ekta said, “It’s a journey of Shobha because the character will make several strong stands; that’s why I thought what better tribute to give her than give her my mother’s name. So I cast Sonali and named the character Shobha. If she takes a bold step and people condemn her they will be condemning the name Shobha. So be it, we stand by Shobha, her decision and we want the viewers to stand by her too. She is actually going to be a product of a lot of viewer thinking; we do not know how to end the show, but by the end of it we’ll know how our society thinks.”
