The dishy dude just wrapped up the shoot of his popular daily soap. He talks to us about his journey, how life changed for him, his toughest scene, his future plans and why he won’t be a part of Bigg Boss

Gautam Rode aka Saraswatichandra is finally taking a break from work. The actor is in Kerala trying to find himself and work on his new character for the next 14 days. The actor reminisces with us his Saraswatichandra days and more. Read the excerpts from the interview…

How was your journey with Saraswatichandra?

My journey has been great and spectacular. Being a part of this show for two years, it has given me everything. Frankly, before this I was a nobody, but Saraswatichandra has made me famous and popular. So yes the journey has been enriching.

The shoot is over and the last episode will be aired. What will you miss the most?

I will miss playing Saraswatichandra.

Among the entire cast and crew, who were you closest to?

I am very close to Maai (Ragini Shah). I will miss her the most.

What according to you was the toughest scene in the entire show?

For me, the scene where I am remembering my mother and missing her was the toughest. It is very difficult to bring in that emotion and pain. It was emotionally strenuous but I enjoyed every bit of it. Of course there are several more physically difficult sequences but that one was tough.

What is the one thing you will take back from Saraswatichandra?

There isn’t any one thing for me. I think I will take back every moment away with me.

In these two years, have you changed as a person?

Well I have grown as an actor every day. Each day was a learning experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. This show has made me what I am today.

You’ve hosted reality shows before, any plans to take part in one?

Honestly, I love hosting so I’ll stick to that. I enjoy acting and at the moment I prefer to do that. While my journey with Saraswatichandra is over, I’ll be back soon with something more exciting and different.

What is your most memorable moment on the show?

I enjoyed playing a sardar in one episode. It was very funny and a completely new experience for me.

Who according to you is your biggest competition?

I don’t think like that at all. I’m not here to compete with anyone. I believe my work will talk for itself and that’s all I want to think of.

What other shows do you watch on television?

Frankly, I barely get time to watch anything on TV. The shoot schedule is so hectic that you don’t get time to do anything. If at all I watch something, it will be the recordings of my own serial.

Who according to you is the hottest babe on television?

They all are very good but for me Nigaar Khan and Mouni Roy are the hottest stars on television at the moment.

Will you ever consider being a part of Bigg Boss?

Well, someday I’ll try that also, but I don’t really follow the show so I don’t know. I have seen a few episodes and am sure I’ll watch some this time as well. Am sure I will know one or two of the contestants who will enter the house this season as well. It will be fun to watch them. Personally, I don’t think I am ready to be a part of it as yet.

It’s the wedding season; any plans to get hitched?

(Laughs) I have no time to think of these things. Life is too busy and I am currently enjoying my work; that’s all I want to keep myself busy with.
