PTI chief Imran Khan address to his supporters from the top of his container. Speaking about the arrests of their workers, he says, “they are picking up people and taking them to jail. Last night they took 15 to 16 year olds to prison.” “They had tied their hands. They took 40 of our young boys,” he adds. “At 3am I was on my way home and saw that they were picking up our people and taking them, saying their crime was ‘attending the sit-ins,’” the PTI chief remarks. “I am telling everyone to save this democracy; this protest is within our democratic rights; there was rigging in the general elections last year and we have proof of this,” he further states. Imran, addresses the Chief Justice of Pakistan, saying that he has the responsibility of saving the country’s democracy. “The containers are a violation of the orders of the high court,” the party chief remarks. During his address, he questions the judges of the Supreme Court, asking them whether it was their job to protect the fundamental rights of the people? “This country is going towards civil war. It is becoming difficult for me to stop my people because they are preparing to fight against the police,” Imran remarks. “All parties on one hand are saying that rigging took place while on the other hand they are saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should not resign,” Imran says, adding that this is a contradiction. “The Sharif brothers are taking this country to destruction,” Imran remarks. “They have stolen and evaded tax,” he alleges, asking how do they have a lot of money. “They are destroying the democracy of this nation to save their money,” he further claims. Imran also says schools are closed and people cannot carry out their day to day activities. Criticising the police, Imran questions whether it was the police’s job to take people and put them in police vans, and steal their phones. “Do the police have a different set of laws and the rest of the people have a different set of laws?” he also questions.
