Ayesha Omer,Maria Wasti and Meera bikini scandal!
In recent years many Pakistani actresses leaped across the border to Bollywood in hopes of making it big. Most of them failed horribly. Mona Lisa and Veena Malik being two of them! While Mona changed her name to Sara(god knows why) and failed to make a spark at the box office with Murder three, Veena stirred controversy over a supposed nude magazine cover. More recently Pakistan’s bold diva Humaima Malik was seen strutting what her mom gave her in Raja Natwarlal alongside controversial actor Emraan Hashmi. As expected Humaima received alot of criticism on her wardrobe and romantic relationship with her Emraan on screen.
We constantly find ways to criticize our heroines that set foot in Bollywood or India, but we forget that the supposed “modest” ones are not much better role models. Lets take for example, Ayesha Omer, the popular “Bulbulay” actress is famous for her comedic roles and pretty face, but how does she spend her vacations abroad? The “Bulbulay” actress has been seen sporting a two-piece bikini while on break in Thailand with friend Maria Wasti.
Though these pictures are about two years old,the question still arises, why aren’t we targeting these actresses? They aren’t portraying a character on screen or doing this as a job, they are just exposing themselves simply because they want to. Maria has always been considered a role model to younger actresses, she has aged gracefully and didn’t create too much controversy in her golden years, which is why i didn’t expect her to participate in such behavior along with Ayesha.
Another actress that has been part of the notorious “beach’ scandal abroad is our very own, beloved, hilarious Meera. While this starlet claims to be uncomfortable in “provocative” dressing, she is seen flaunting carelessly on a beach along with her lover! Not only that, she is proudly posing to the camera!
To make a long argument short, Pakistani women should not be exposing in this manner whatsoever and there are no excuses, whether for a film, drama or just in their leisure time. But if actresses like Humaima and Sara are getting criticized for dressing in provocative clothing on-screen,then its only fair to judge our actresses choices of-screen as well. Whether its exposing in India or anywhere else in the world, either way its wrong and bound to create controversy.
