KARACHI: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has demanded to increase more police force and resources to enhance effectiveness of Karachi operation adding that due to scared resources and lack of enough police force the operation could not achieve desired results, media reported.
According to the report, the AIGP Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has written a letter to Inspector General Sindh police (IG) highlighting the police limited resources, lack of police force and suggested initiatives to fulfill the police capabilities to tackle the crime and terrorism in the city.
Ghulam Qadir Thebo also highlighted that due to police scared resources both in number of police force , communication and weapons Karachi operation could not get expected results in ongoing Karachi operation.
In his letter, the AIGP demanded that immediate recruitment of 10000 police constables in Karachi police with addition to recruitment of 1000 retired army personnel.
To improve patrolling and vigilance in the city he suggested buying 100 cars, 200 pickups, 500 motorcycles, 100 bullet proof vehicles and 50 bullet proof armored vehicles.
The AIGP suggested to equipped police with modern weapons with buying of 5000 9 mm pistols,50,000 bullets, 5000 smg’s, 50,000 bullets, bullet proof jackets 10,000, bullet proof helmets 10,000.
