Karan Johar is in talks with these actresses to play the part of Rakhee in the remake of the 1989 blockbuster
Ever since news broke that Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty are joining hands to remake the classic Subhash Ghai super hit of 1989 – Ram Lakhan, there has been huge excitement on social media. While you guys voted in our poll and made Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh your favorite jodi to star in the remake, there is now talk that KJo’s two favorite blue eyed boys -Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra might be close to getting the film. While the casting is still in progress, we are told that Ranveer won’t be able to do it because of his prior commitment to Sanjay Bhansali for Bajirao Mastani and also given the fact that he’s had a fall out with Johar over that film.
However, its not just the lead actors roles that has Karan in a fix, but also the very important role of the mother played by Rakhi in the original. Buzz is that there are three contenders for the role – Madhuri Dixit, Amrita Singh and Kirron Kher. It seems that Tabu too was approached, but she was aghast at the idea of playing mother to the likes of Varun and Sid.
Given the fact that all three names – Madhuri, Amrita and Kirron have worked with Dharma Productions and are close to Karan, the competition will be tight. What is also interesting is that will these ladies agree to play mother to younger actors like Varun, Sid or Arjun.
