Profile Ovais Ahmed Tanweer, known as Ovais Mangalwala is a documentary filmmaker, television anchor, producer and film festival director. Presently, he is associated with Express News Television, Pakistan's largest news organization. His previous, association was with DAWN News Television. With Masters degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration, he has a diverse background of working in the Information Technology, Banking, Education and and media industry. He is also an advisory member for media studies and visiting faculty member at several universities in Pakistan. Ovais is the Founding Director of Centre for Research on Islam and Media, which organized Pakistan's first International Muslim Film Festival showcasing international films portraying Islam as a peaceful religion. The relationship between Islam and media is also his research interest. He also holds a diploma in theatre arts and performs with various theatre groups as an actor occasionally.
