Profile Mr. Muhammad Akram Zaki was elected as a Member of the Senate of Pakistan from Federal Capital Islamabad for a six year term (March 21, 1997 - March 20, 2002). Senator Zaki belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League, of which he has been an active member since his retirement from the foreign service of Pakistan in December 1993, concluding a distinguished diplomatic carrier spanning four decades (1954 - 1993). Even before joining the foreign service in 1954, Mr. Zaki was actively associated with the Pakistan Muslim League and earlier with Pakistan Movement, since his early youth. Since 1994, he has been working as adviser (Foreign Affairs) to the President of Pakistan Muslim League. He is always vise-president of Pakistan Muslim league. Senator Akram Zaki, former Secretary General (with the rank of Minister of State), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China, USA, Nigeria and The Philippines, has been an outstanding carrier Diplomat, who has to his credit rich and varied diplomatic experience of nearly fourty years (1954).
