Vishal Bhardwaj’s film gets 41 cuts for a U/A certificate while Vikram Bhatt’s horror film gets the certificate without any edits
The Censor Board of Film Certification couldn’t seem to have digested the amount of morbidity depicted in Shahid Kapoor starrer Haider. That is why the film was made to get 41 cuts before it could receive a U/A certificate.
These cuts include scene of Shahid’s character walking among dead bodies, visuals of security personnel inserting a wire into naked man and muting of the word “fu***d”.
Haider‘s director Bhardwaj claimed that of the 41 cuts, 7 were suggested by the Censor Board while the other 35 were made to make the film crisper. We wonder if Haider will lose its essence so many edits.
Vikram Bhatt’s Creature 3D has also received the U/A certificate but without any audio-visual cuts prescribed by the Board. The director as well as the cast including Bipasha Basu and Imran Abbas are happy that their film will now have a larger reach to the audiences.
