The Magadheera director admires Rajkumar Hirani and wishes to venture into Bollywood
It’s been nearly two years since the filming of period drama, Baahubali, had kicked off. But the dedication of SS Rajamouli and his team, to capture the magnum opus on celluloid, has not gone down one bit. The film starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah is nearing its shoot completion. At present, the Baahubali team is shooting an important, grand sequence at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.
Made at whopping budget of Rs 150 crore, SS Rajamouli wants Baahubali to reach the entire nation as he plans to dub it in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. “Like Eega (dubbed in Hindi as Makkhi) we want to reach out to an audience beyond our two Southern states. We will be dubbing it in Malayalam, Hindi and foreign languages,” informs the filmmaker.
After surprising the audience with some amazing special effects in his film Makkhi (dubbed version of Eega), the ace director wants to venture into Bollywood. A number of Hindi films like Rowdy Rathore, Son Of Sardar are remakes of Rajamouli’s blockbuster. Infact, his biggest hit till date, Magadheera, is set to be remade by Sajid Nadiadwala with rumours of Shahid Kapoor playing the lead.
The ace director admitted that he had great respect for PK actor-director duo, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. When questioned if he would ever make a Hindi film, SS Rajamouli stated,”I don’t want to be restricted linguistically. I don’t watch many Hindi films but I always find time to watch Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan’s films. I’d like to make a film with Aamir one day. I hope he agrees.”
We can’t wait for the perfectionist Khan to team up with the prolific filmmaker. Aamir, are you listening?
