Profile Military career: Tahir Mashhadi joined the Pakistan Army in 1970 during the war with India and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1971, graduating from the Pakistan Military Academy's 30th short course. He has done B.Sc (Hons)from PMA and also completed PSC (Command and Staff Course Quetta) with flying colours.Indo Pak War of 1971 During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, Mashhadi was stationed in Shakargarh, which saw some of the heaviest fighting during the war in what has since become known as the Battle of Barapind . Political career: Tahir Mashhadi has not only served the country while fighting on the battle fields but also as public elected representative in senate (Tenure = March 2006 to March 2012) and City administration.
