Troops engaged in the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan were showered with glowing tributes on Tuesday by army chief General Raheel Sharif, an ISPR press release said. The army chief, who was received by Lieutenant General Tariq Khan, Commander 1 Corps Mangla, visited the troops while they were undergoing counter-terrorism training exercises. Further on a visit to Khairan for the ceremony of the upcoming National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), General Raheel Sharif said, “The Pakistan army is fully prepared to deter and defeat any form of aggression across the entire spectrum of threat,” ISPR reported. The NCTC will be a state-of-the-art facility with a large capacity to impart training to troops to combat terrorism in all kinds of terrain, the press release added.
