Deepika Padukone grabbed the headlines on Sunday (September 14) when she replied to a Twitter post made by a ‘leading’ daily regarding her cleavage. Her legion of fans took the matter in their stride and #IStandWithDeepikaPadukone started trending on Sunday.
“Yes! I am a woman. I have breasts and a cleavage! You got a problem!!??” the Finding Fanny actor tweeted taking on the indecent post.
But she didn’t stop with just one tweet. “Don’t talk about women’s empowerment when you don’t know how to respect women!” she added as a rejoinder.
The actress was apparently enraged over a story on her ‘cleavage show’ in, what she called, “supposedly India’s leading newspaper”. The tweet added — and this is “News”?
And guess what? Instead of aplogising for their cheap tactics, the news organisation called that post a compliment. news organisation later tweeted: “It’s a compliment! You look so great that we want to make sure everyone knew! :,” they tweeted.
Naturally this further angered Dippy’s fans, who just thought it is a lame cover up.
Even including Deepika’s Finding Fanny co-actor Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar and other celebs, had much to say after that.
