Buzz suggests that the show has been unable to garner viewer’s attention
Amongst the number of daily soaps which have been axed recently, the latest to face the brunt is Poonam Dhillon’s Ekk Nayi Pehchaan. The show which went on air in December 2013 has been struggling to find its loyal viewership.
While the Sony TV show was earlier revolving around a saas-bahu relationship, later introduced another character called Pallavi played by the veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure. The makers were expecting to grab some eyeballs by creating an onscreen tiff between Poonam and Padmini. However, the idea fell flat on their face as the new character failed to create any buzz around the show. Moreover, the show that also stars Krystle D’souza and Karan Sharma was earlier aired on the 8.30 pm slot was later shifted to 8 pm as Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 8 was supposed to air at that time.
Dhillon while speaking to a leading daily said, “People are not even aware that the show’s time slot has changed. I am not sure if it’s going off air, but with the new time slot, and KBC’s latest season underway, viewers may have felt that the show has ended with Padmini’s exit.”
