She retired from the Government Service in 2010 as a Professor & Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, King Edward Medical University. She is also the partys candidate for Constituency NA-120 (Lahore) against the two time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She belongs to a former noted political family of the Pakistan Peoples Party as her father-in-law Malik Ghulam Nabi remained a close aide of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Education and Medical Experience: She completed her MBBS in 1978 from Fatima Jinnah Medical College, followed by MCPS and FCPS from College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in 1981. She is also a members and fellow at Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1999 and at College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan since 2010.
