The PK actor offered his chartered plane to the stranded cricketers in Chandigarh
Last Sunday, Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh were stuck in Chandigarh, due to unexpected flight cancellations. Aamir Khan came to know of their plight and put his chartered plane at their disposal, so they could reach Delhi in time for some urgent appointments.
Reveals a source, “In the new season of Satyamev Jayate, Aamir has introduced a new segment where there will be a live audience chat called Mumkin Hai. The viewers can connect with him, from anywhere in India. The first episode has the theme ‘Let’s Play, India’ and features Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Mongia and Kapil Dev, apart from ex-hockey captain Rajpal Singh and three-times Olympic gold medallist and former hockey player Balbir Singh Sr. Post the show, Yuvraj and Kapil had to rush to Delhi to catch a flight as they had urgent meetings scheduled. But there was some problem at Chandigarh airport and there was a shutdown. All flights had been cancelled and so, both were stuck at the hotel.”
The news reached Aamir, who called up Kapil and told him that his chartered plane was at their service. He himself was flying back on Monday and wouldn’t need it on Sunday. The two were touched by the actor’s kind gesture. They were dropped off in Delhi and the plane returned to Chandigarh the same night.
Well, that’s Aamir for you! A humble knight in shining armour!
