The posters of all three films seem to share the same style and texture

Lifting of poster designs from Hollywood and world movies is nothing new in Indian cinema. But when the posters of Arjun Kapoor’s Tevar was out, we were intrigued to find it strikingly similar to two other films.

At the end of 2013, the first look of Salman Khan starrer Jai Ho was out with innovative poster design which gave a distinctive feel to it. Lets fast forward to June 2014, when the most anticipated poster of Illayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi was unveiled. And in October 2014, the first look of Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha’s Tevar was revealed.

Now if we take a closer look at all these three posters, we will find that there is a striking similarity between them. The first poster of Jai Ho was painted by Salman Khan himself which comprised of numerous small stick figures, holding hands over an image of Dabangg actor. The first look of AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi comprises of various newspaper headlines printed over the visage of hero Vijay.

Tevar poster designed by Arjun Kapoor himself, has the clear stroke of inspiration painted all over it as it features various action sequences of the film printed on Arjun’s face. While all the three posters were appreciated by one and all, one cannot deny that there is a thread of inspiration which connects the posters of the three films together. But the million dollar question is whether Kaththi and Tevar have just borrowed the idea from Salman’s Jai Ho poster? Are Kaththi and Tevar posters inspired or copied from Jai Ho? You decide!
