Amitabh Bachchan‘s songs have been played over and over again by all. Be it the older lot or the younger generation, everyone loves his songs. Songs from his yesteryear hits have been on our playlists for years, but on his 72nd birthday we decided to have a look at some of his recent hits. Here are five songs that the mega star has been a part of in the recent days, which were unique in their respective manner.

Bbuddah hoga terra baap

Sung by Amitabh himself, this song was an acapella from Big B’s film Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap. This song had all the music given by Amitabh himself via his vocals. It was one of its kind and no one had ever tried such a thing in B-Town ever. AB was the very first person to do so and he did it with panache. After Big B, many people followed suit, but it was he who made it memorable.

Ekla chalo re

Sung by Amitabh, this song is a very old Bengali Rabindra Sangeet, which was written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore during the Indian independence war. The song suited perfectly the tone of Vidya Balan’s Kahaani and the makers decided to get it sung by Big B to get the needed effect. No one in history has used Rabindra Sangeet in Hindi films before. Amitabh Bachchan was the first one to bring it to Bollywood.

Aladin Genie rap

Sung by Amitabh and Anushka Manchandani, this was a rap song that Big B tried for Riteish Deshmukh’s Aladin. It was an innovation in itself. The song introduced the character of genie in the film and Amitabh gave the perfect touch to it by rapping like a hipster. There were hardly some great rap numbers in Hindi when Big B sung this song. What so unique you may wonder. Well Big B was the first Bollywood actor to perform a rap for his own film.

Mere paa

This song was from his superhit film Paa. The quirky steps of this song became so popular that many other actors tried peroerming the same on stage, but failed miserably. This song had an instrumental version as well, which was the background score for the film. The song is unique as it was the first time Amitabh and Abhishek were dancing together in thie R Balki film, but they were not playing father and son in the general way, their roles had been reversed.

Party with the Bhootnath

Sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amitabh, this song from Big B’s latest hit, Bhootnath Returns, became a rage with fans of both the stars. Yo Yo is known for giving party numbers and this party number rocked in every sense. The music, the cinematography, the lyrics and the foot tapping choreography, all comes well in a circle with this track. This was the first time a veteran actor such as him, decided to sing alongside the rap star Honey Singh.

We wishes Senior Bachchan a very happy birthday and hopes that he keeps entertaining us for many more years to come.
