Chennai Express babe is all set to re-enter Kollywood with Tamil dubbed version of Happy New Year
Deepika Padukone might be an A-lister in Bollywood, but she got the taste of severe criticism when she ventured down south for her debut Tamil film opposite Rajinikanth. The leggie lass became the butt of all jokes for her animated look in Kochadaiiyaan.
The inconsistent animation of her character in Kochadaiiyaan, made even the drop dead gorgeous dame look unpleasant at times. The fans and critics alike have heavily criticised her role and her animated appearance, leaving the Chennai Express star visibly flustered. While Rajini’s last heroine, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was a huge hit down south, many would consider Deepika’s Tamil debut to be a failure.
Now the Finding Fanny actress is all set to make a comeback in Tamil film industry with the dubbed version of Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year releasing this Diwali. Deepika looks ravishing in Happy New Year promos and is sure to set the temperatures soaring with her chemistry with SRK. It would not be easy going for Tamil version of HNY at box office as it clashes head on with Vijay’s Kaththi and Vishal’s Poojai. We wonder if the actress can revive from her Kochdaiiyaan debacle and create a fan base for herself down south with Happy New Year.
