Farah said the film got delayed since she wanted to make certain changes in the original script
Farah Khan’s Happy New Year is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2014. However, not many know that the film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was supposed to be made after the director’s 2004 film Main Hoon Na.
Speaking to an entertainment portal Farah revealed the real reason behind this delay. She said, “So many things happened after Main Hoon Na, I got married, then I wrote some other version of HNY, we didn’t like it so we made Om Shanti Om after that I had children and so on and so forth.”
A report in a leading daily also suggested that the film was earlier planned with Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead. Obviously things didn’t work out then, as Khan’s magnum opus is finally releasing in 2014 with Shah Rukh, Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah as the lead cast.
Well, better late than never Farah. We are sure the film will rock at the box office!
