Despite asking people to cast their votes, the Satyamev Jayate anchor is unable to do it himself!
Aamir Khan won’t be voting today! He might have urged all of us to go out there and cast our votes and be a responsible citizen, but the Dhoom 3 actor who also has a social awareness and responsibility show on a channel won’t be able to practice what he preaches!
The reason being that Aamir is in Europe for a film function for which he has given commitment a year ago. A source reveals the reason why the actor won’t be seen at a voting booth this year. “Aamir is very upset! He has tried his level best to ask officials to find a way to let him vote at a foreign embassy where he’s traveling, but they haven’t been able to find a way to do that. He had given approval to a film event in Europe for which he had to fly on these dates. Also since the election dates got announced later, he couldn’t back out on his word!.”
What about taking a flight and going back ? His PK co-star Anushka Sharma has flown down just to vote. The source adds, “He tried that option as well, but he’s unable to do it. Even MS Dhoni faced the same problem earlier when he wanted to vote but was in a different country playing a match.”
Well, at least Aamir tried, but its unfortunate that someone who champions the causes of society and asks everyone to be diligent is unable to follow up on his own words, right ?
