Katrina Kaif has delivered three back-to-back blockbusters – Ek Tha Tiger, Dhoom:3 and now Bang Bang. And she has many more hits under her credit but somehow Ranbir Kapoor’s ladylove has never won an award. Surprising and shocking as well, hai na peeps? But the Jagga Jasoos starlet doesn’t worry about trophies. She is happy the way her films are turning out to be. Apart from that, Kat also remembers what her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan had told her and till date she follows those words of wisdom. When we recently caught up the actress, she admitted this herself.
We asked her if not being recognised at awards function bothers her at some level and here’s what she said: “No… not at all! I remember that I had asked Salman this question and he told me that before Dabangg he had no nominations. I am not making any comparison because Salman is an iconic person in the film industry. But it was just a good reminder and there was something else that Salim uncle also said. He told me just to be different one doesn’t have to be bad. When people make films sometimes they are just so off that people don’t understand and it seems that they were trying to be different just for the sake of it. Those are two philosophies that I believe in – don’t try and be different for the sake of it and if something is working for you and you’re doing well then be happy and accept that. Don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself but don’t chase it pointlessly and aimlessly. And when it is the right time, it will come to you.”
The B-town beauty further added,”Awards are great, I love them. They’re fun and I take them with a smile and when you don’t have them I am happy with the results of the films. I just always remembered what Salman said and I found it quite relevant to what I wanted to achieve for myself.”
