Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami

Director: Ravindra Gautam

Star cast: Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia, Divyendu Sharma, Manu Rishi, Aditi Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Uttara Baokar, Supriya Kumari, Bhagwan Tiwari, Sudhir Pande, Aashif Sheikh, Anurag Arora

Synopsis: Two sons set out to get their father what he dreamed of all through his life–the ultimate sign of respect. High on thrill and laughter, this film takes the audience through the unbelievable attempt of Shekhar (Divyendu) and Subhash Joshi (Manu) to provide their father an Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami (21 gun salute). Purushotam Joshi (Anupam Kher) is a common man who fails to earn his bit of appreciation despite being completely honest during his life-long service as a government employee. Joshi’s sons are, however, willing to go the extra mile to get their father his only wish. But will they succeed in their endeavour?

Why should you watch: Political satires have been well appreciated in our country by the intelligentsia (Phas Gaya Re Obama, Kya Dilli Kya Lahore, Well Done Abba, Bhootnath Returns, Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga, etc). This is another one like that and people will definitely want to watch it. Also Anupam Kher is coming back after a stellar performance in Daawat-e-Ishq. Divyendu too has carved a niche for himself with films like Pyar Ka Punchnama and Chashme Baddoor. We believe these reasons make the movie worth watching.

Spark

Director: V. K. Singh

Star cast: Rajniesh Duggal, Shubhashree Ganguly, Ashutosh Rana, Govind Namdeom, Rohit Raj, Rati Agnihotri, Manoj Joshi, Mansa Bahl, Ranjeet

Synopsis: The story is about a local Indian lad Arjun (Rajneesh Duggal) who falls in love with Anupama (Shubhashree Ganguly) while he is studying in Germany. They soon become passionate lovers willing to die for each other. But life takes a twist. Years ago, something happened in India, something incomplete was left behind, a game of deceit, which couldn’t be completed without him. The Masters of the game (Govind Namdeo and Ashutosh Rana) play their game and bring him back to where it all started. Arjun finds himself in between the family feud and thinks that he is the ‘Jack of the Game’ but he is trapped and baffled. His every move was worked upon by the Masters and now he must rise above all to find his true love and uncover the truth behind all the hatred and enmity.

Why should you watch: Ashutosha Rana is coming after two powerful performances in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Desi Kattey. Also Rajneesh Duggal has become very popular after winning Khatron Ke Khiladi 5. This is an action film and anyone who’s a fan of action-thrillers is likely to enjoy the movie.

Tamanchey

Director: Navneet Behal

Star cast: Nikhil Dwivedi, Richa Chadda

Synopsis: Two criminals come together by virtue of fate and are made to stick onto each other for over a week. Love blossoms between the two and the rest of the story revolves around how they fight with the rest of the world to save themselves. But will they succeed in their endeavour?

Why should you watch: Salman Khan has been promoting the film a lot. Even Shah Rukh Khan has been very appreciative of Nikhil Dwivedi’s acting skills. Richa has time and again proved herself with brilliant performances in Gangs Of Wasseypur, Fukrey, etc. All this has increased the credibility of the film and hence, could be watched.

So audiences, go ahead and take your pick this week.
