Bollywood has been smitten over biopics in the past few years. The latest to join the league is Karan Johar who has announced that he will make a biopic on the late hockey legend Dhyan Chand. Many people have been rumoured to be playing the coveted role. Starting from Shah Rukh Khan to Aamir Khan to John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan, but none of them have been finalised. Now it seems Ranbir Kapoor is being considered for the role, though nothing is confirmed as yet. So we decided to ask you fans as to who, according to you, can best play the role…
Ranbir Kapoor: He has been at the top of his game. It is because of films like Barfi!, Rockstar and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani that he has become one of the most bankable stars today. His lanky figure will suit Dhyan Chand’s embodiment perfectly.
Shahid Kapoor: He was out of the big league for sometime owing to his consistent flops, but the actor came back with a bang with R…Rajkumar. From playing the serious, mature guy in Jab We Met to playing a goofy goon in Kaminey, Shahid has proved his mettle as a versatile actor. With his performance in Haider, he has us convinced that he can play just about any character onscreen and Dhyan Chand would be no difficult for him.
Ranveer Singh: He has been giving Rs 100 crore films consistently and has become a favourite of audiences and filmmakers alike. Also Ranveer’s over enthusiastic self says that he has been a good sports person throughout his childhood. Something that is needed to justify the character of Dhyan Chand onscreen.
Sushant Singh Rajput: He has been out of films for a long time now, but he is coming back with some great releases over the next 6-7 months. With PK, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi and Paani, he will be walking into the big league once again. He had once portrayed a cricketer in Kai Po Che and his physique is pretty similar to that of Dhyan Chand. So he might be a good choice for the biopic.
Arjun Kapoor: He doesn’t very much look like Dhyan Chand, but it is his sheer hard working ability that we are counting on. His brooding eyes and angry young man looks make him apt for portraying the Hockey legend onscreen. He has given some great films this year and is all set to come up with Tevar early next year. We are pretty sure that if given an opportunity he will definitely fit into the physique department as well.
