The Mumkin hai section is a new addition this season….
The third season of the critically-acclaimed show Satyamev Jayate is airing now. Starring Aamir Khan, the former seasons of the show saw the actor earnestly highlighting the harsh realities of the Indian society, such as honour killing, female foeticide, child sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, untouchability, alcoholism and criminalisation of politics, among others.
This season they have introduced a new section called the ‘Mumkin hai’ section which is a live interaction show. Audiences can call up directly after viewing the full episode and ask their queries or give their opinion about what was good and what needs to be done. People also can call up and speak about the problems they are facing and solutions to them related to what was shown in that day’s episode. Today’s episode was on sports and Kapil Dev was the special guest on this segment. Aamir and Kapil chatted a lot about the show and amidst many callers they got a call from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin says, “I was watching the show and I really liked it. I liked the show as it was on sports and the stories you showed were good. I congratulate all the older women who took part in 100 meters races. My father encouraged me in sports in spite of being a professor himself. As a Rajya Sabha member I am promoting sports for all. Sports should be something that is introduced at grass root level from school itself. There should be a subject on sports like any other academic subjects. It should be graded and they should get special scores for representing on a national or state level.”
However, the makers cut Sachin’s call in the middle because they had to fill in other callers. Also Sachin was rambling about the same topics and he was just praising how the show was, rather than contributing to much to the actual needs of the public. Sachin tweeted, “Aamir’s @satyamevjayate episode was a déjà vu for me, sports4all will change country’s future #MumkinHai.”
Today’s show also featured badminton great Saina Nehwal. Going by the promos and trailers for the show, Aamir Khan is set to talk about hope and the wide range of possibilities by Indians in the third season. This time, the show will encourage a healthy interaction with its audience and the Khan will also have live chat with viewers on social media. Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, and Kangana Ranaut are set to be featured on the show.
