It seems loads of fans haven’t been satisfied with SRK’s latest outing. Here’s how they have shown their anger…
The Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Happy New Year crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the box office on Sunday and became the fastest film to enter the 100 crore club. However, most critics have panned the movie, with one-star and even zero star reviews being common. Over the weekend, Twitterati took jibes at the movie with a sarcastic #HNYBestFilmEver tag trending in India.
Vivek Shukla takes the hashtag seriously and then ridicules it by saying, ”One minute silence for all those departed souls who think that #HNYBestFilmEver . May god have mercy on their souls. ”
Nabeel thinks a one-minute silence for Happy New Year lovers is not enough and says, “I rather watch Sooryavnsham on SetMax than wasting time on crap movie like HNY. 2mins silence to al those who r trending #hnybestfilmever.”
Suresh Krishnan is crisp and short. He says, “Lol #hnybestfilmever tag should b #hnyworstfilmever.”
Is Amit Kumar a fan of SRK or not? He tweets, “I have to say whoever started or created the hastag #HNYBestFilmEver is making more fun of srk than even.”
Chintan Rathod is very upset that #HNYBestFilmEver is trending. Then why make it trend again, sir. He says, “You people are RETARDS..country is dealing with corruption…world is dealing with ebola and sum pathetic fans dealing with #HNYBestFilmEver.”
Huh? Champunath isn’t really making sense, or is he? He says, “Haha #HNYBestFilmEver sounds like #NaMo4PM – both can never happen. No, wait.”
Gutsy_BigDataku is getting personal. He says, “I am sure this #HappyNewYear script was written by that dumbass Sajid Khan for her sister Farah Khan.Is this even a movie!! #HNYBestFilmEver.”
Yo Yo लाफ्टर Singh says, “But we have to agree that SRK fans are supreme, best trolls ever. Trending #HNYBestFilmEver is as difficult as watching it. #RoadiesSalute.”
I was giddy too, when I came to know of the collections of this movie. But ‘giddy in the stomach’? Hipsterrific says, “Hearing reports and reading tweets of people not getting tickets for HNY makes me giddy in my stomach. #HNYBestFilmEver.”
It is incredible how a film like Happy New Year has managed to collect over Rs 108.86 crores in just three days, given how poor its reviews are. Perhaps it’s merely the presence of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone? Perhaps it’s the fact that the film is a ‘clean’ family entertainer in today’s times. But it’s certain that some people were neither entertained by the movie, nor amused by it trending. Well, there’s always a contrarian’s opinion. Hai na peeps?
