Vikas Bahl’s directorial venture Shandaar has been in the news ever since the project was announced. Starring Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor in the lead, the film was offered to Karan Johar as well. Yes, the Bombay Velvet baddie was in talks to star in the film as Ms Bhatt’s father. Well, it would have been super interesting to see these two play father-daughter onscreen. After all, the Highway starlet is Johar’s protege and we all know they share an amazing rapport. But sadly the Student Of The Year director rejected the role as he didn’t want anyone to take a risk with him as an actor unless Bombay Velvet – his acting debut – releases. But interestingly, the Koffee with Karan host is still a part of Shandaar. We say so because KJo is indeed doing a cameo in the film courtesy Alia. Yes, we hear it was Mahesh Bhatt’s beti who convinced Karan to play a small role in Vikas’s film.
That’s not all! Alia and her mentor have already started shooting in London for Shandaar. Well, we are pretty sure the two must be having fun on the sets. As for Alia’s onscreen father, its Pankaj Kapur who has stepped in Johar’s shoes.
